💃 15 Salesforce Career Boosters You Can do in 15 Minutes🕺
Simple things with big impacts
Good morning, Salesforce Nerd! What if you could get washboard abs in less than 8 minutes?
C’mon, though…7 minute abs is a myth.
But what about 15 things you can do in 15 minutes each that can boost your career?
You’re likely not doing any of them now, and it could be a reason you’re not leveling up like you should be.
Here’s 15 things you can do in 15 minutes to get good 👇

15 for 15
15 Simple Salesforce Career Boosters
You can do all 15 of these. Or you can just do the ones you want. Some are easy, some will make you anxious. But they’re only 15 minutes each, what do you have to lose?
✍️ Write a short list of the “5 most impressive things” you’ve done in Salesforce.
These become interview gold and LinkedIn post fuel. Most importantly, it’s a moment for you to reflect on your biggest value-adds in your Salesforce career.
🤓 Skim a popular Superbadge’s requirements.
Even if you don’t start it today, you’ll begin to frame how to prep for it. You will see some modules that are applicable in your day-to-day, motivating you to deepen your knowledge.
🗣️ Practice describing a technical concept in plain English.
Try “What is a Flow?” or “What does a Role Hierarchy do?” as if you’re explaining to a 10-year-old. Come up with a simple analogy - “A flow is like a personal assistant, you just need to tell them when they should do it and what it is they need to do.”
🎥 Record a 60 second intro video about yourself and your Salesforce story.
Presenting, storytelling, and condensing years of experience into a 1 minute bit hits a ton of leadership skills while also giving you a leverage-able product to share.
🧐 Review one job posting for a Salesforce role you aspire to.
Understand the required skill sets or experience gaps and use them as roadmap inspiration. Note the items you excel at (so you can exploit them) and what you’re weak or unfamiliar with (so you can improve them).
🤝 Request a short testimonial from a colleague or client
Social proof is powerful, and almost no one does this proactively. It’s important to understand the effort required from the person providing a testimonial, so be thoughtful in your request, and gracious if you receive a response.
💬 Comment on 3 Salesforce Trailblazer, LinkedIn, or Reddit posts
Add value, answer questions, or ask thoughtful ones. Engage with the community and surface insights either through asking good questions or telling stories that promote your value-add insights.
✍️ Post a tip, story, or reflection on LinkedIn (or in a Slack community)
It doesn’t need to be groundbreaking. Authenticity and usefulness win. If you’re worried someone already posted it, don’t. Timing is everything - your post may reach the reader who needed to read it right then and right there to help them.
💬 DM someone whose content you admire and thank them
It’s networking without the awkwardness. You just make the day for the the person you thank. Also, selfishly, it feels good to give compliments 😊.
📥 Send a “how are you?” message to an old colleague or mentor
Your next opportunity might come from someone you already know. All those years you spent in the trenches with former coworkers makes for a strong connection.
✍️ Write a short “What I learned this week in Salesforce” journal entry
Keeps you aware of your growth and can be mined later for content.
🧐 Explore one company’s Salesforce job structure on LinkedIn
How many admins vs. BAs vs. architects? Where do they hire? It reveals a lot.
🤓 Skim a Salesforce white paper or eBook
Especially ones about industry-specific clouds or trends. Salesforce has hundreds of these, but be sure to look elsewhere, too.
✍️ Write down your current “career hypothesis”
Example: “I want to be a Solution Architect in 2 years. I need better experience with integrations.” Keep refining it! And then you can make plans on how to achieve it!
📝 Make a list of people you’d love to learn from
Follow them. Subscribe to them. Read their posts. Maybe even reach out someday.
PRO TIP
Operationalize It!
Block out time on your calendar, give it a compelling name like “Professional Development” or “Career Investment.”
If you knock out this list over the course of a month, and then do it again the next month, these benefits are built-in ⬇️
😃 Get your dopamine from sending (and receiving 🙌) authentic messages to your network, instead of scrolling through Twitter or The Gram.
🧠 Be better informed and gain insights into what knowledge, skills and experience you need to succeed in your dream role. You think your competition is putting in this work? Easily get ahead of them!
🧘 Reflect and be mindful of what you’ve learned, what you’re learning, and what you need to learn. It makes the knowledge stickier and easier to conjure when you need to!
