Good morning, Salesforce Nerds! There is no shame in not knowing what the plethora of roles we work amongst do on a day to day. What their objectives are, what skills are required to be successful in those roles....how much they get paid. All the interesting stuff!

Consultant
Arguably one of the toughest Salesforce roles. The expectations of a consultant are high. The work environment can be complex at best, and toxic β οΈ , at worst. And don't forget about the 3 bosses....
A Salesforce Consultant will be expected to be a refined presence to the client. Being billed at rates from $200-$500/hr π΅ , depending on experience, of course the client's expectations should be high.
Some consultants are surprised to find out being a Salesforce expert is often not a requirement, or even useful. Relationship building and excellent communication skills are the primary tools for consultants
Salary - π°π°π°
Who excels at this role: People who love to build relationships with their clients, are excellent communicators, and can steer the ship to completed deliverables. It pays pretty well, but at what cost? A 40hr utilization requirement usually means 40+ actual hours. In addition to the mental gymnastics of maintaining strong relationships even when the delivery is not always as strong.
