💃 Why Your Company Should Pay For AND Bonus You For Salesforce Certs🕺

A Letter To Your Manager

Good morning, Salesforce Nerds! Salesforce Certifications are more than just “digital” pieces of paper that keep us warm at night.

Certifications validate that we understand the platform at an academic level 🧠.

They show we have a commitment to the platform, through the time and effort it requires to pass the exams 🫡.

They are tangible accomplishments - that show up in our Trailblazer profile, resumes, and Linkedin - that not only strengthen our profiles, but the companies that employ us 💪!

We know and understand this.

How do we influence decision makers to understand that their paying for AND bonus-ing us for obtaining Salesforce Certifications is a win-win?

Why Your Company Should Pay For AND Bonus You For Salesforce Certs

Dear Boss,

I am going to make your job easier. Your LIFE easier.

The high-inflation market has us worried about the money that we have being devalued, and the money we borrow being more expensive 😢.

Tech layoffs have everyone in tech feeling less invincible 😢.

The complexity of Salesforce solutions is becoming greater, requiring better resources to support, maintain, and optimize them 😵‍💫.

Most days it feels like we are swimming upstream.

Until a few days ago.

I was out with my friend, a Salesforce admin at a healthcare company.

She said their Salesforce team’s morale is high, despite all of the negative external factors. She said her company’s clients are pulling back on spending, they’ve laid off one of their Salesforce product owners, and they are cutting back hours with their Salesforce consulting partner.

I asked her how they maintained positive vibes despite the challenges they are facing?

“Salesforce certifications!” she answered.

Ummm, what about them? Certs don’t pick you up when your paying clients stop paying, when your teammates are being laid off, or when your Salesforce budget is diminished.

“My company pays for our Salesforce certifications,” she responded. “AND, they bonus us for each certification we obtain.”

I was still not making the connection. A fine perk, to be sure. But how did this tie into their high morale?

“It’s a clear signal, from my company, that we are valued. That Salesforce is valued. That the people managing the Salesforce org are valued.”

❤️

Here’s Why

As a Salesforce Professional

1) If we feel we are being taken care of, we will reciprocate. When our company and our boss encourage us to get more certifications, pay for them, and then pay us a bonus for obtaining them, that’s a warm 🔥 and fuzzy 🧸 feeling.

2) We love learning more about the platform. Our role and responsibility rarely take us to the very edges of what the Salesforce platform is capable of. Certs, and their trailheads, give us that exposure 🌎.

3) It looks good on our resume. With Salesforce being the #1 CRM, it is attracting a lot of talented workers. Certifications are something that can make us stand out from other candidates 🦄.
