Good morning, Salesforce Nerds! The world’s largest AI company 😉 enjoyed ATH stock prices the day after its Tuesday’s earnings call.
But it wasn’t because of earnings. So why did Salesforce stock pop 12%?

HOW DID WE GET HERE?
Salesforce Knows Positioning
3 quick anecdotes to drive home the point that Marc knows positioning-
☁️ In 2003, Steve Jobs mentored a young Marc Benioff and bestowed upon him the wisdom that the future was the cloud. Marc immediately understands, and SaaS CRM is born 🫃.
🏪 In return, in 2008 Marc gives Steve the Appstore.com domain. Why did Marc own this domain? He understood the value of an online marketplace where developers can shill their applications and extend his SaaS CRM. He knew this before Apple 🤯.
🧑💻 Salesforce is growing so fast, there is clearly a future with insufficient integrator resources, a revenue-sucking bottleneck to sales. In 2014 Trailhead is launched and there are now 100k+ certified Salesforce admins.
So yeah. Salesforce knows positioning. Marc understands positioning. You all have benefitted from this, and will continue to if you stay thirsty in the Salesforce ecosystem.
THE NEAR PAST
Salesforce Knows Positioning, cont’d
And Salesforce stays positioning. Just look at this flawless near-past track record-
🧠 Salesforce gets activist investor’d and uses that to gain all lost value, plus some…AND sheds the activist investors!!! Ghandi is jealous of that masterclass!
🧠 Salesforce plants the AI flag when AI is still barely vaporware and is as toxic as crypto and SPACs were during the pandemic.
🧠 Marc loses a plethora of top executives (and continues to) yet he stays uber-committed to AI much to the desire of no one…
Is Salesforce the black swan that destroys the market rally?

Look at that ☝️! That was just 6 months ago! Salesforce stock is up 35% since that tweet….and there were a ton of those tweets at that time! (Who wants to see a Marc Reads Mean Tweets episode 👋)
Marc and Salesforce never wavered. In fact, they doubled down on AI. There’s still no compelling success stories, and yet they rise 📈.
The market has realized Marc has positioned Salesforce as an enterprise business application fully-enriched in AI, and further along than their competitors in both customer-awareness and actual business AI solutions.
GIVE MARC HIS FLOWERS

Great chart 📈
Excerpt from JPM / Mark Murphy research notes on $CRM. Enterprise AI is here - now - and will have an enormous impact in 2025 and beyond.

Increasing GDP growth globally…Marc knows how to position these things 😉
After $CRM beat their revenue estimate, $401 and $518 do not seem so far fetched anymore

From market black swan to 60% growth target in just 6 months 🤯. (this just proves humans are incredibly terrible predictors of the future…except Marc 😆🔮).
Can you tell when the activist investors showed up?

I’m not ready to give the activist investors flowers, but they certainly gave Marc the kick in the gonads that he needed 🙌.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Takeaway
The takeaway here is that the ChaCha is an excellent source for all of your Salesforce insights and entertainment 😜.
Back in Q1, while this guy thought Salesforce murdered your puppy 🐶, the ChaCha had this to say 🔮 -

🔮called it 🎯
Yes. We just gave ourselves flowers 💐. Thank you.
SOUL FOOD
Today’s Principle
"The largest and most important companies in the world across all geographies, across all industries are now building and delivering agents. And Salesforce is unique as we are perhaps one of the only companies at scale in enterprise that is now delivering this globally." - Marc Benioff, 2024Q3 (FY2025Q3) Earnings Call
