Root cause and act on issues faster! ๐Ÿ’จ

Good morning, Salesforce Nerds! Does your org handle scale effectively? Is the solution youโ€™ve built capable of standing up to a large ๐Ÿ”ผ increase in the amount of work it needs to perform? How do you even really know ๐Ÿค” when (or if) scalability issues will turn up?

These kinds of questions can be difficult to answer. They require a lot of analysis and in-depth study ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐ŸŽ“ of your org.

Lucky for us, Salesforce has provided a toolset ๐Ÿงฐ that will help! Today we explore the new Scale Center tool!

Improve your instance with this self-serve tool

About two months before Dreamforce this year & without much fanfare, a small post hit the Developersโ€™ Blog to announce that a new tool was now GA.

There were two things I โค๏ธ about this post.

  1. Itโ€™s mostly pictures ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. It intros a tool that can help avoid some of the most painful ๐Ÿค• issues on the platform

Say hello ๐Ÿ‘‹ to Scale Center!

A tool that provides near real-time access to detailed data into performance metrics & provides you with actionable recommendations to improve things like:

  • Integrations

  • Reports

  • Apex

  • SOQL

  • Lots more โ€ฆ

In short, this tool will help you address scalability issues within your org proactively instead of reactively. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Just think of how powerful that can be. ๐Ÿค”

From an architect perspective ๐Ÿ—๏ธ, itโ€™s not uncommon to be brought into a project only after there are scalability issues surfacing and disrupting the business. ๐Ÿ˜ก These can be difficult & time consuming to address. Much of the time it can require large redesign and/or refactor efforts. ๐Ÿซ

Not a situation a company (or an architect) wants to find themselves in. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

If only there were some way to get out in front of the issues that cause these kind of problems in the first place ๐Ÿฅธ

Scale Center will show you a snapshot ๐Ÿ“ธ of your orgโ€™s performance metrics over a defined period of time. โŒ›๏ธ

Giving you a view into common errors ๐Ÿ’ฃ๏ธ like failed logins, concurrent Apex errors, row locks, etc..

Plus, it includes key metrics visualized ๐Ÿ“ˆ into charts for things average request time, database CPU time, total errors, etc..

This is the kind of thing that gets ChaCha excited! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฅณ ๐ŸŽ‰

Just think of the headaches you can avoid by monitoring the your orgโ€™s performance regularly. Seeing your queries slow ๐Ÿข down? Or maybe an uptick in ๐Ÿ”’๏ธ row locks? Seem like any interaction with the database is โฐ taking too long?

Hit the Scale Center and start deep-diving into your analysis. ๐Ÿคฟ
