What is the Pareto Principle?
The Pareto Principle states that 80% of outcomes come from 20% of causes.
It is named after Vilfredo Pareto, quite an original thinker and not a very well thought of individual during his lifetime. He discovered his namesake principle through sociology research that was not popular.
However, as principles do, it had many applications, and well outside of sociology. It has stood the test of time and evolved into a probability distribution model.
