💃 Salesforce 2025Q1 (FY2026Q1) Earnings Call 🕺

Plus, Informatica - what is it, why should you care?

Good morning, Salesforce Nerd! Salesforce stock is up, at the time of this writing, 4% in afterhours trading because of an impressive double beat on revenue and earnings per share!

The quarterly earnings call was filled with shallow AI success stories, contributions from the executive including the COFO, CRO and Chief Engineering Officer, and, of course, the touting of the Informatica acquisition!

THE NUMBERS

Salesforce FY2026Q1 Earnings

Revenue | $9.83 billion actual vs $9.75 billion expected, and an 7.6% YoY increase.

Earnings | $2.58 per share vs $2.54 expected

Double Beat!! 🤜 🤛

Furthermore, Salesforce adjusted guidance for the current quarter (FY2026Q2) to $2.78 EPS and $10.16 billion revenue; up from $2.73 and $10.01 billion.

Operating Margin slightly increased to 34% and is a testament to the margin-discipline Marc and his team have been preaching since their activitst-investor-era!

As of this writing, Salesforce’s afterhours stock price is up 4% 📈.

Marc hit you with pre-call tweet 👊 (gotta love that a billionaire Founder/CEO personally tweets his company’s earnings 👏!)

THE GOOD

Really, Pretty Good

Financially, this was a double beat - revenue and earnings per share exceeded analyst forecasts. Really good!

Robin Washington, Salesforce’s new COFO, was a major contributor to her 2nd earnings call. Her prepared remarks, read verbatim, were rizz-less drab 😴, but she was much better off the cuff, answering analyst’s questions during the Q&A. Pretty good!

The AI success stories you’ve been waiting for are starting to fill out a little, and become more numerous, but truly need more time, cycles, and maturity to tell a fist-pumping story 🤷🏻. Finnair’s Agentforce solution is managing thousands of customer service contacts per week, and has reduced the human onboarding by 25% (they didn’t explain how…). Pretty good…

Salesforce has been drinking their own juice 🧃. “Customer 0,” as Marc like to call Salesforce, is on the vanguard of effective agentforce implementations. In their internal Slack org, salespeople have engaged with the sales AI agent 21,000 times, resulting in 44,000 hours saved through simplifying the sales process 😳. Would love to get more details behind those numbers…really good, even if it’s likely inflated.

Salesforce’s customer service agent on their homepage has nearly 1 million conversations under its belt. Pretty good. But if you’ve interacted with it, you know it needs a ton of work 😅.

THE BAD

A Buffet, this is Not!

The earnings call wasn’t all sunshine ☀️ and rainbows 🌈.

And while the sentiment was good, reading between the lines shows a darker future…here’s what we mean-

Salesforce will NOT be an all-you-can-eat buffet! No, no. They are looking for every opportunity to implement consumption pricing 💰. Want guac? Pay for it. Extra meat? That’ll cost you. 2 cheeses? Get charged for 2 cheeses. They’ve already updated their Agentforce pricing, expect them to expand the consumption-pricing model!

Salesforce’s enterprise partnerships are bringing in huge wins. Their partnership with AWS, alone, has brought in billions of dollars, including 2 of the top 5 deals in Q1. Enterprise partners brought in 7 out of 10 top deals in the quarter 😳. Why is that bad? AWS is part of the multi-trillion dollar company, Amazon. And Salesforce has recently gutted their partner alliance teams. So, the rich get richer. The connected stay connected. And smaller, or new partners have no chance in getting the level of relationships the big fellas will enjoy ☹️.

Succession plan!! There was not a peep on this important topic! Marc Benioff is a 60 year old billionaire who is still the Chair, Founder, and CEO running the earnings call, attending events, and making sales calls to the biggest prospects. It’s a grind of a life for someone who’s spent his storied career grinding. How much longer will the man with a 11-digit net worth stay grindin? And who can fill his shoes 👞?

THE SHINY NEW TOY!

Salesforce Acquires Informatica for $8 Billion

What is Informatica?

Informatica is a data management company 🙂. It is SaaS ☁️. It is AI-infused 🤖.

It is a platform with a ton of pre-built tools. Salesforce has Flows, Object Manager, and Permission Sets. Informatica has API builders, ETL tools, and MDM (master data management) capabilities.

Why should you care, as a Salesfore professional?

So, so many reasons. Sorry for the tease, but 👇

Next week, the ChaCha will be diving deep into Informatica, and how it impacts you, the Salesforce professional…stay tuned!
