Good morning, Salesforce Nerds! Marc Benioff has been cashing $3 million dollars per day 💰💰💰 in Salesforce shares , which is about 15,000 CRM shares. Salesforce has a job board, although it’s not quite as cool as your job board 😉. Salesforce World Tour’s latest stop in the incomparable NYC 🗽 took over your Linkedin feed.

Marc has been cashing millions of dollars of his Salesforce shares, daily 😳.
But fear not, this is actually a very clever liquidity move for a very clever billionaire 🧐.
You see, when you hear people are worth Hundreds of Millions or Billions of Dollars, that value is not liquid.
ie A billionaire cannot immediately go buy something that costs billions of dollars.
They would need to convert their assets into money. Assets being planes ✈️ , real estate 🏠, businesses 🏢 , stocks, etc.
This is exactly the case for Marc- his billions are tied up in his business, Salesforce. For Marc to have folding money 💵 to slip into his big pockets, he needs to liquidate some of his company equity.
And with the sentiment created by a founder selling off shares (how would you feel if your parents suddenly started selling off the cars and furniture? Worried, right?), Marc has developed a tactic to create ho-hum optics 🧠.
And where’s that money being spent? Marc mentioned philanthropy and buying other businesses for good 🦸.
