Integrations for People Who Aren't Responsible For Integrations 😉
Good morning, Salesforce Nerds! 👋 Welcome to our latest in the “Integrations for People Who Aren't Responsible For Integrations 😉” series!
Integrations in your Salesforce projects have that aura of difficulty and complexity that other workstreams do not.
And deservedly so - connecting apps is not a finger-snapping exercise (c’mon AI 🤖, if you’re gonna do something cool, do integrations 😜 !).

BUSINESS PROCESS, FIRST
Example 1
Connie the consultant: We need a Salesforce integration with the company website webform.
Devin the developer: Ok, I can have this completed next week 🙂.
*2 weeks later
Connie: That webform integration - when the lead selects California as the state, they need to be auto-converted to an Opportunity.
Devin: Ok, I can have this completed next week 😐️.
*2 weeks later
Connie: That webform integration - we need the lead source to be captured all the way through the Opportunity-Won, and into the Quote record….
Devin: (audible sigh 😞) Can you think of anything else we may need to manage for downstream of the webform integration 🤨?
Example 2
Connie: We need a Salesforce integration with the company website webform, and the marketing teams needs the ability to report on this lead source all the way through sale. So, inbound lead, lead nurturing, lead conversion, opportunity nurturing, and quote.
Devin: Ok, let me take a look at the current state, and I will follow up with you with the estimated effort, or questions if I have any 🙂
