SCENARIO
Sierra the CEO comes bounding into the company meeting, “Did y’all see Salesforce’s Q3 earnings? They’re printing money over there 💰💰💰!”
Everyone nods, including Connie the consultant.
However, Connie has no idea what Sierra is talking about. She doesn’t monitor the markets, including Salesforce….even though she’s a Salesforce consultant whose job literally depends on the financial health of Salesforce 👀.
But Connie believes that has never had a reason to care 🤷.
She’s great at her consulting job. Salesforce is the #1 CRM in the world. Why would she spend her valuable free time monitoring a ticker?
Besides, she’s not even invested in Salesforce. She is maxing out her 401k and doesn’t have leftover funds to dump into the stock market, like Sierra the CEO apparently does 🤑.
Marge the middle manager responds to Sierra, “Hubspot had a great 3rd quarter too. SaaS CRM is thriving right now 💪.”
“Yeah, I saw that! Microsoft is still humming along too. Tech is strong right now 📈!” Sierra responds, nodding in strong approval to Marge’s insight 🧐.
Whoa, Connie thought. Didn’t know Marge was up on all that…
After the meeting, Connie Slacks Marge, “Look at you monitoring the markets. Didn’t know you were a savvy investor 💃.”
Marge responds - “😂 I’m not, I just follow the markets to sound smart to my clients and to our CEO 🧠 💪 “
