Before we discuss strategy and tactics for 1:1 amazing-ness, let’s review three important points-
1) The manager is most responsible for setting up 1:1s for success.
Especially for consultants - consulting is a people business. Managers of consultants will fail 💯 if they are not having effective 1:1s with their team.
2) The 1:1 is for both of you. You get-
✅ Dedicated effort from a leader
✅ A private forum to ask questions
✅ Opportunity to present your successes.
3) The manager gets-
✅ Your temperature and your mindset.
✅ Your priorities and operational challenges.
✅ Then, the manager supports you, accordingly.
