💃 What it's Like Dating a Salesforce Professional🕺
Custom Objects and Chill 🙂
Good morning, Salesforce Nerd! Do you tell your loved one the specific moment that they Triggered your love for them?
When they became more than just a Prospect, and developed into a promising Opportunity?
Sheesh…is this what it’s like to date a Salesforce professional?!
But if your passion for Salesforce is improving your relationship - emotional intelligence, good communication, and humor - then shine on, you crazy diamond 💎!

SCENARIO
Same Stuff, Different Environment
When your significant other tells the story of how you two met - “it was a hot summer day so I snuck into the library to cool off and there they were, looking fabulous 😍!”
But you know the truth. A set of predefined conditions were met-
✅ Likes to read.
✅ Makes my heart beat faster just seeing them.
✅ Looks at me like i’m the only person there.
and subsequently, your love trigger fired, next steps successfully executed, and the rest is history ❤️…
Netflix and Chill
Netflix is something to be reviewed, understood, so critical decisions can be made.
While your partner just wants to pick a movie and get on with it, you need to scroll through each Top-List and each genre. You ever wonder why?
Well…Netflix is basically reports and dashboards.
Sorted and categorized. Summarized and rolled up. Top-10 and other time-sensitive lists.
And actually, there’s a ton of similarities to Salesforce-
📋 Picklists - genre, run-time, vibes.
👀 Lookup fields - have we watched this before? What are others watching?
📝 Surveys - would you recommend this movie or show?
So while your partner has their heart set on the latest sci-fi or rom-com, you, subconsciously, are showing the Netflix designers love by touching every record in their lovingly built platform, much to your decisive partner’s dismay 😩.
Groceryshoppingforce
Record types - of course you need different record types for each food category. Protein, fruits and veggies, starch, and snacks. A clean structure to input your list sets you up for a successful shopping trip!
And when did you last purchase these items? When did you last update your grocery list? Who was it that updated it?
Of course it’s inevitable that you miss some items from your shopping list, but with proper prioritization…some call it lead scoring…you will beeline for the critical items as soon as you walk in. Operational priority 😉.
Even your significant other loves the framework you bring to something as domestic as grocery shopping. And why wouldn’t they? Organized trip. Less chaos. Less missed items. Getting back home and knowing you have everything you set out to buy. Slay!
Love in a Screenflow
If you’re married, a monthly date night is quality marriage-medicine.
And if you’re married and a Salesforce professional, you’ve probably thought of planning your date night through the lens of a Screen Flow.
🖥️ Screen 1 is Dinner Selection - sushi, Mexican, tapas, Chinese.
🖥️ Screen 2 is Budget Range (with dynamic visibility if you select sushi or tapas 💰)
🖥️ Then a decision-node - do you have a 2hr+ babysitter? If no, end date planning. If yes, proceed.
🖥️ Screen 4 is Activity - movie, cocktail bar, seasonal or limited event.
🖥️ The final screen is a calendly link (super sexy 😍) to select your special night!
How could your partner not swoon over such a slick date planning solution?! You’ll be the significant other that gets bragged about when it’s girls/guys night out 😉.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Takeaway
🤷🏻 Yes, you demand proper naming conventions for Spotify playlists.
🤷🏻 Yes, you you speak in acronyms.
🤷🏻 Yes, you log your emotions as picklist values (MSPL is not acceptable, however!).
But here’s the thing-
❤️ You’re a fantastic communicator.
❤️ You are great listener, always listening for root causes and thinking of clever ways to solve them.
❤️ You invest in making the people you care about have great (UX/UI) experiences.
And who knows when your partner may need a crash course on duplicate management, but when they do, you’ll be there for them 😘❤️!
