This cycle will be a daily occurrence! You will need 2x, 4x, 8x the time to complete a task together, versus you doing it yourself!

Management isnโ€™t for everyone, but itโ€™s beneficial to get a taste of it ๐Ÿ‘….

Youโ€™ve been in roles where you have a backstop, aka a manager who is responsible for catching any of your falling plates. You being that plate-catcher for someone else is Management Experience ๐Ÿ˜….

This also means YOU are accountable for THEIR work, so youโ€™ll want to double-check important stuff, like their solutions going into Production.

Delegation is a superpower ๐Ÿฆธ!

It is also a skill that must be developed over time. A junior resource is the perfect opportunity to strengthen your delegation muscles ๐Ÿ’ช!

And eventually, that junior resource ๐Ÿ‘ถ ainโ€™t gonna be so junior anymore ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿฆณ - they will be making valuable contributions that will free you up to do bigger, better things ๐Ÿ˜Š!

Thatโ€™s because theyโ€™re challenging. It will not be a comfortable experience ๐Ÿ˜…, but totally worth it ๐Ÿ™Œ!

DO THESE THINGS!

โœ… Kindness and Patience

When developing your new junior resource, plan for at least 9 months of putting on your patience pants๐Ÿ‘–.

This is as much for you as it is for the junior resource. Walking in, knowing this is closer to a marathon๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ than a sprint ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ is a good mindset.

โœ… Make Them Drive ๐Ÿ›ž

Youโ€™ll have to initially explain stuff, but utilize your opportunities to make the junior resource do the thing- create the custom object, apply report filters, or update page layouts.

Theyโ€™ll stumble, at first.

Youโ€™ll need to tap into your patience reserves, but this method pays off big in the long term, by setting the right expectations with the junior, and getting them in the habit of โฌ‡๏ธ

โœ… โ€œShow Me!โ€

Make the junior resource show you what theyโ€™ve done.

Pull up the screen, enter an input, monitor the thing, and review and validate the output.

This is more good expectation and habit setting, as well as validation that the junior is putting their money where their mouth is ๐Ÿ˜‰.
