This cycle will be a daily occurrence! You will need 2x, 4x, 8x the time to complete a task together, versus you doing it yourself!

Emotional Intelligence. Accountability. Strategy. Humility. Effective Communicator.
These are just a few leadership qualities. All of these, and more, will contribute to your successful development of a junior resource ๐ซก.
๐ Management Experience
Management isnโt for everyone, but itโs beneficial to get a taste of it ๐ .
Youโve been in roles where you have a backstop, aka a manager who is responsible for catching any of your falling plates. You being that plate-catcher for someone else is Management Experience ๐ .

Delegation is a superpower ๐ฆธ!
It is also a skill that must be developed over time. A junior resource is the perfect opportunity to strengthen your delegation muscles ๐ช!
And eventually, that junior resource ๐ถ ainโt gonna be so junior anymore ๐จโ๐ฆณ - they will be making valuable contributions that will free you up to do bigger, better things ๐!

When developing your new junior resource, plan for at least 9 months of putting on your patience pants๐.
This is as much for you as it is for the junior resource. Walking in, knowing this is closer to a marathon๐ถโโ๏ธ than a sprint ๐โโ๏ธ is a good mindset.
โ Make Them Drive ๐
Youโll have to initially explain stuff, but utilize your opportunities to make the junior resource do the thing- create the custom object, apply report filters, or update page layouts.
Theyโll stumble, at first.
Youโll need to tap into your patience reserves, but this method pays off big in the long term, by setting the right expectations with the junior, and getting them in the habit of โฌ๏ธ

Make the junior resource show you what theyโve done.
Pull up the screen, enter an input, monitor the thing, and review and validate the output.
This is more good expectation and habit setting, as well as validation that the junior is putting their money where their mouth is ๐.
